Reptiles have solid eggs while amphibians have soft eggs that have no protective shell
Reptilian eggs are those laid by reptiles and are characterized by a hard shell. Amphibian eggs are those laid by amphibians are covered by jelly coat .
Reptile eggs have a leathery coating that helps to prevent them from drying out, while amphibian eggs do not, meaning they must stay in moist areas
Reptile eggs have a tougher exterior than amphibians that protects them from dessication. Amphibian eggs are usually laid in a clump of jelly which is under or near water.

- Amphibians starts their life as water but move to lands as they mature but reptiles mainly live on land except for crocodiles and turtles.
- There are fewer amphibians than reptiles.

∙ 9y agoMain difference is the fact that reptilian egg is amniotic and amphibian egg is an-amniotic . for a layman reptilian egg is shelled bur amphibian egg is not shelled . Reptilian egg is macrolecithal and amphibian egg is mesolecithal .
