What is the difference between microfiber sheets and Egyptian cotton sheets?

Microfiber is woven very tight, nice silk like texture (good for summer) and Egyptain cotton is a bit heavier soft and I perferr it in the winter it tends to keep the heat in, both are really good just get a high thread count above 1000. Keep in mind that microfiber sheets are made of polyester and nylon polymers. Microfiber has a synthetic feel to it and the similarity is analogous to polyester versus cotton clothing. The tread-count comparison to cotton is misleading because a higher count in microfiber does not improve softness the way it does with cotton sheets.

Which is softer and not as scratchy 100 percent cotton or Egyptian cotton?

I've been doing alot of research on cotton lately, what types are the best and what you shouldn't buy clothes or bedding made of. And from what I've gathered, Egyptian cotton may possible be the best type something can be made from. That's why it's expensive most times. Go for Egyptian.

Can you wash microfiber in a washing machine?

The simple answer is yes, you can wash microfiber is the washing machine. Be sure that the only thing in the washer is microfiber items. If you put cottons in the machine with the microfiber it leaves cotton beads on the microfiber. It's also important to not use fabric softener (in either the washer or dryer) as the chemicals get absorbed into the microfiber material.

What is the worlds softest cotton?

The world's softest cotton is usually Egyptian cotton. However, it depends on their thread count. 500 threat count of Egyptian cotton is particularly soft.

Is microfiber in bed linen the same as 600 thread cotton?

No. Microfiber thread count cannot be compared to the thread count in cotton. A 1500 thread count bed sheet of Microfiber might not be half as heavy in weight or thick enough as a 600 thread count cotton sheet, but it will be far softer than a cotton 600 count. It is similar to comparing apples and oranges. Microfiber has a thread count of it's own and tends to remain thinner, although it gets softer, with higher thread counts. Cotton on the other hand, tends to get thicker and heavier as the thread count goes higher, so a 1500 count sheet in cotton might weigh like a blanket.

Advantages of 100 percent cotton?

Cotton is a hypoallergenic, comfortable fabric made of natural fibers. These fibers are very low maintenance and durable, making cotton the leading fabric of clothing.
