Mountains are much larger than hills.
A hill is usually made out of dirt. But a mountain is made out of rock and soil and is much taller.
Mountain are tall and pointed while hills are short and round.
A mountain is a landmass that projects conspicuously and is always higher than a hill. A peak is the highest point of a mountain.
Mountains are generally taller and steeper in comparison to hills. Mountains are also formed through tectonic processes, while hills are typically lower in elevation and may be shaped by erosion. The distinction between a mountain and a hill can vary depending on the region and local geography.

They are both basically the same thing. A natural elevation in the earth's surface. The only difference is, is that a mountain is bigger. Until the 1970s the difference was a 1000 foot difference in local elevation. Since their is no way to standardize, this distinction is no longer used.
