The expression, "Having a dream," generally refers to a person's hopes and ambitions. One can have a dream for the future without be dissatisfied with the present. For example, a child can be perfectly happy and satisfied at age 10, while at the same time "having a dream" of finding someone to love or building a successful career in the future. Similarly, a person might be quite happy at one's present job, while having a dream of going back to school and beginning a new career that might be even better.
