What is the difference of were and where?

Where = asking a question to find something, e.g.:
Where would I find a taxi in this town?
Where did you put my glasses?
Were = the past tense of "are", e.g.:
They were sick and could not work.
You were in town when your father telephoned.
We're = abbreviation of "we are", e.g.:
We're are going to see a movie.
We're going over to our friend's house.
