It is an infection of the appendix attached to the start of the large intestine, the appendix is useless and is not needed or used but if an infection becomes apparent and is left untreated it can cause a massive infection in the surrounding body and can in worse cases even explode or rupture and be extremely painful to the patient, infection can become life threatening if left untreated as it develops readily into an almost poison like toxic infection
