As with most countries in the Northern hemisphere, the winds travel in relation to shear forces produced by the rotation of the Earth resulting in the Coriolis effect. Given this, you can generally expect the winds in China to be moving with a West-to-East directionality and a North-to-South directionality, giving a Northwest-to-Southeast general wind direction for most weather systems in that region.

However, this is a generalization.

There are secondary effects which cause winds to circulate (vortex effects), and so winds will often change direction as different air masses collide and create turbulence with one another.
