There are no major disadvantages, there are however, several minor ones to consider.

1. wind generators are more difficult to maintain, have more moving parts, and more difficult to install, than solar or hydro. This can lead to longer install times and increased costs of installation and maintenance.

2. They can take up a lot of land space. If you are trying to generate enough power for a business at a commercial level it may require several acres worth of wind turbines.

3. They are somewhat weather dependent. If you live in an area with consistent wind they will be viable most of the year, but if you live in an area prone to calm weather they are far less useful. They also need to be shut down if the area is prone to violent wind storms.
