Is it wrong to name your band after the lead singer?

Plenty of bands do that. Christina Perri did that and so did my English teacher. Keep in mind that bands are democratic. If a band is going to be named after the lead vocal, then the rest of the band should be okay with it.

How any people are in the band- muse?

Three. Matthew Bellamy, who is the lead singer, lead guitarist, and the pianist for the band. Christopher Wholestenholme, the bassist and the backround vocals. And then Dominic Howard, the ever so wonderful drummer of the band. And in a few of their songs, Morgan will be playing keyboard. But he's not part of their "official band". But he does get credit for playing keyboard. I believe he is their official band manager though.

Who sets the tempo in a concert band?

The conductor is responsible to set the tempo, but the band has to take the responsibility to maintain the tempo. The percussion makes for a good metronome because of the monotonous, clear nature of the sounds produced. For example if the Tubas slow down, so does the band, if the Tubas speed up, so does the band. But one would think that as in an orchestra, where the concert master or lead first violin assists the conductor in setting the tempo, so it would also be with the concert band, where the first or lead clarinet performs exactly the same function.

Should you tell your friend their holding up the band and to let you play lead?

If the other band members agree with you then yes, tell your friend they are holding up the band, but perhaps help them out in some way so they still feel part of the band.
