We have either recently entered, or are soon to enter, the Age of Aquarius. However, the timing system is not fixed and there is much disagreement on this. The idea is that because of the precession of the vernal equinox (sometimes called the first point of Aries) the point of the equinox moves slowly through the zodiacal constellations in a grand cycle lasting about 26,000 years. This means that on average, the vernal equinox will be in any given constellation for about 2160 years. The same precession mentioned above causes the astrological accounting of the locations of planets and stars to be far off from the actual observed positions. So it is as if you can pick and choose what kind of system you will use to determine the earth's zodiacal age. This amounts to nothing more than fun, however. There is nothing to the beliefs that the zodiacal ages have anything to do with events on earth.
