After floamora town, where you gain the ability to slather honey on the Yellow trees, you have to use the honey on the "Yellow trees" in different places. Then leave it for a while and come back, if it's shaking, there's a rare Pokemon such as combee or cherubi etc. If not, slather the bark again, and leave. repeat until you find your combee.
I waited until i was about to go to bed to slather honey. I found the tree, put the honey on it, saved, and went to sleep. When i woke up i checked it, and gave me a combee. A good thing to do is Slather, save, check later. repeat as necessary.
