The quickest way I have found to earn flows is by playing games, working at the restaurants, talking or whispering to people and doing your moves. Then if you want to spend your flow(s), you click the number of flow(s) you have and choose the three following games. If you want to play the game at the left, it will only cost you one flow. It will mostly give you coins and sometimes you Level Up, some coins, New Move or it may include a Clothing Prize. If you want to play the game that is in the middle, it will has to cost you five flows. It will give you Clothing Prizes, some coins, New Move and Level Up. If you want play the game at the right, you can only play it once a day. If you want to play it, it will cost you one flow. You might be lucky to have a Jackpot or sometimes your not lucky enough to get a Jackpot.
You can also type "test-mode 42" in the chat bar, then "cryptobiologist", and this will give you an instant flow boost for 9 flow. Every day, you get 3 more from the last. You can get about 70 a day! But, if you miss a day, it goes back to 9 v_v It's free and it'll work once a day! :)
