Being extremely poisonous! Their bite contains a potentially lethal venom that acts very quickly- it IS treatable with serum if dealt with quickly enough, but nonetheless the victim will be made very ill, and if the bite is not treated, then they could die.

There is the black mamba, eastern green mamba and western green mamba. Most mambas have a dark olive, olive green, grey brown or metal colour skin, the black mamba is called that as it has a black mouth, not because it has black skin.
The eastern green mamba can be found to the eastern side of southern Africa, it's found in forests from the Eastern Cape through Mozambique and Tazania to south-east Kenya, can also be found inland as far as Malawi and Zimbabwe. The western green mamba is native to West Africa, around Liberia and Cote d'lvoire.
They hatch, eat variety of vertebrate animals until mature around the age of 3, mate, and then females lay eggs....and so on.
The Eastern Green Mamba would rather escape but continuous provocation would cause the snake to strike, biting you and injecting its venom.
