As a long time patient, taking marijuana both in edible form and smoking, I can only speak for myself. In both forms it truly depends on the quality of the marijuana. Obviously the lower quality the more marijuana is needed for the desired effect.
Most marijuana is purchased by the 1/8th of an ounce and up. An 1/8th of an ounce will usually give me 20 to 30 smoke-able "doses"
