Well, we have everything as other countries but our educational system is similar to German/Austrian one as a more than one century long influence on our country.
We have 8 grades of elementary school (usually you start with 7 and finish with 14 years), following Middle school (highschool) 4 grades. Here we have high schools for some profession like Technical school, Catering school.... and high schools (also known as "gymnasiums" as in Germany etc..) are just here to prepare students for college.
I went and graduated in high school. We had around 15 subjects every year following:
Croatian, Foreign language (English, German, French...), Math, Physichs, Chemistry, Biology, Sociology, PI, Art, Music, Ethics/Religion, Latin, INformatics, Logic, Psychology, History, Geography...
New thing is final matura exam which have to pass all those who want to go to college after high school graduation. Croatian, Math and Foreign language are standard and everyone must take them, and optional are others. For example, I enrolled on Faculty of Architecture - School of Design (University of Zagreb) but I had to write Art beside those three.
And the thing with college is as same as in EU.
