Due to the coming of colonialism traditional Indian schools (gurukuls) were abolished . The traditional way of learning values and other curricular activities was changed and focus was laid on literature and examinations only.

Colonialism has destroyed traditional education with its morals, virtues, and skill acquisition. The concept of Western education is strange to the rest of the world who were coerced to embrace it. Western education with its numerous theories and hypothesis has enslaved the rest of the world who are so crazy about degrees and diplomas that has not really changed their fortune in life.
