It is important to replace the battery with one of the same amperage. The number of plates do not matter. If you replace your battery with one of lower amperage, it will not last nearly as long.

What is the effect of high temperature of current carrying capacity of battery?

The higher the temperature of a battery, the faster the chemical reactions in the battery, and the shorter the battery life span.

What is the effect on battery capacity at very low ambient temperature?

this has an effect as it more likely to fail in the winter as in the summer, this is because the electrons has difficultly to pass through the plates, as the electrolyte is nearly freezing.

What is th effect of Replacing a battery with one with fewer plates?

The battery voltage will be less. Batteries are arrangements of cells. The voltage of each cell is fixed depending on chemistry. Less plates means fewer cells, so the voltage produced by the battery in total will be less.

Do you need to let a laptop battery run out?

It depends on the type of battery you have in your laptop.NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) batteries have a sort of memory effect. It is a good idea to cycle (Discharge fully) these kind of batteries as this ensures maximum capacity for longer.NiMhd (Nickel Metal Hydride) does not have this memory effect. They should not need to be discharged fully before being recharged.Memory effect is:The battery "remembers" after a few times of being recharged, when it was recharged. The capacity will then start to drop drastically and begs for a recharge when it reaches the point of where it normally have been recharged before.Example:A battery (NiCd) being at 50% and then recharged will after a few times drop the voltage at 50%. This giving the impression that it is "empty" where it is not really so.Note:The memory effect can be cancelled with a couple of deep discharge and full charge again. The battery is then -revived- brought back to capacity again.

What Effect does battery capacity on a circuits internal resistance?

Batteries are rated as ampere/hour any circuit that draws power from it effects it. The lower the internal resistance of the circuit the shorter the useful battery life as discharged.

What is the effect of low temperature on the operation of a lead-acid storage battery?

A lead-acid battery works because of chemical changes inside it with sulfuric acid and lead. When the temperature falls, the strength of these chemical reactions fall, too. This results in less battery capacity.

What determines life of batteries?

What factors determine battery life? The duration of the battery charge is governed by five factors including:Physical Size - the amount of capacity that can be stored in the casing of any battery depends on the volume and plate area of the actual battery. The more volume and plate area the more capacity you can actually store in a battery.Temperature - capacity, or energy stored, decreases as a battery gets colder. High temperatures also have an effect on all other aspects of your battery.Cut off Voltage - To prevent damage to the battery and the device, batteries have an internal mechanism that stops voltage called the cut-off voltage, which is typically limited to 1.67V or 10V for a 12 Volt battery. Letting a battery self-discharge to zero destroys the battery.Discharge rate - The rate of discharge, the rate at which a battery goes from a full charge to the cut off voltage measured in amperes. As the rate goes up, the capacity goes down.Battery History - Deep discharging, excessive cycling, age, over charging, under charging, all reduce capacity. Note charging your battery 1 time will reduce capacity as much as 15%-20% depending on your battery's chemistry.

What was the major effect of replacing the two diodes with resistors?

As I have no information on the circuit I can make no valid predictions as to the effect of replacing diodes with resistors. However I assume the effect(s) will resemble that of having very defective diodes in the circuit.

Will a car running hot cause battery to die?

No, that will have no effect on the battery.
