Here the electron configuration:

1s22s22p63s23p63d104s24p64d105s25p6

It is usually not to show all of the configuration, the reason is to avoid repetition in indicating inner-shell electronsthis done by using [He] which represents 1s2, [Ne] which represents 1s22s22p6, [Ar] which represents 1s22s22p63s23p6,

and finally [Kr] represents 1s22s22p63s23p63d104s24p6

Therefore a shorthand version for Xe would be [Kr] 4d105s25p6

If you look at the Periodic Table for Group 0 is used in the shorthand version. The reason being is that they do not normally take part in chemical reaction (Noble gases).
