What is the enemy of the nautilus?

There are actually a few species under the genus Nautilus. Asking what the enemy of a genus is can be hard to answer as the different species under this genus range in size. But, unfortunately, the most accurate answer (regardless of species) is humans. The shells are sought after by some (you can find jewelry made from their shells) and a few others are used for aquarium trade. Current Nautilus are not listed on CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

Similar cephalopods existed up to 550 million years ago!
