A meditative poem is any poem which helps to bring you closer to yourself, to silence, to self-awareness. Perhaps the best example of a meditative poet is Rumi, a Sufi mystic. Try his short poems.
In Christianity, beginning prayer is called meditation. The Stations of the Cross are a simple way to meditate on the Passion and Death of Our Blessed Lord. The Church has long approved of this aid to meditative prayer, and enriched it with many indulgences over the centuries.

In the Bible Jesus instructs specifically how to pray. His example is known as "the Lord's Prayer".
The Lords Prayer is an example of how to pray, not what to pray. Of course we can pray it, but that wasn't His point.
