The fastest man made space craft today is Voyager 1. This space craft was launched in 1977 and travels at 11 miles a second, (39,000mph) which, if you think about it, is pretty pathetic.
Although, with the help of the gravitational pull from other planets, that Voyager 1 has passed, or have yet to pass, it's probably going faster.
But still, Voyager 1 is over 30 years old, and so far it's past Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
And as of 11/16/11, Voyager 1 is at the outer-most region of the Solar System. It's still unknown when exactly Voyager is going to enter inter-stellar space, but scientist expect it to enter inter-stellar space some time in 2012.

As far as has been publicly announced, man-made spacecraft have landedon the earth, on the moon, and on Mars.
As far as is known to the public, no man-made object has ever landedon Mercury. The MESSENGER spacecraft flew by Mercury to gather data on the planetonce in 2009, and once again in early 2010.1

Radio waves and lasers travel at the speed of light, but the fastest "things" ever built are obviously spacecraft. They have extremely long distances to travel. The fastest velocity ever achieved by a powered spacecraft is being achieved by the New Horizons spacecraft heading for a rendezvous with Pluto in July 2015. It set the powered record of 36,373 mph after its launch from Earth in 2006. It attained a maximum speed of about 52,000 mph using a flyby of the planet Jupiter in February 2007.
