The same as on a 4 string.

E F F# G G# A which is where the A string takes over and continues up in semitones. The 5th fret of each string is the same as the next string open, except where the B string is involved (the 5th string). If the B is the highest pitched string on the guitar then its open note is the same as the G strings 4th fret, not 5th

3rds and 5ths are musical intervals, the same on all instruments. I assume you mean major 3rds, in which case a 3rd is 4 half steps and a 5th is 7 half steps.

Each fret on a base is one half step, so you can count up the frets to figure out what the 3rd or 5th from a given note is.

Another easy way to figure major thirds is to think of a major chord (first inversion). The middle note is a third up from the root and the top note is a fifth up from the root. For example, a C major chord is C-E-G. E is a major third up from C and G is a major fifth up from C.

The 6th string on a guitar is the finest, highest pitched string. Although it is located at the bottom of the the guitar neck, it is called the 'top string' because it has the highest tone (when in tune).

If you are talking about what is the lightest gauge (thickness) strings available for a 5 string bass, most manufacturers make a .045 to .100.

But you may be able make your own custom set by checking out, JustStrings.com.

You can buy individual strings of gauges that would suit you more properly.

You can actually buy a set of Baritone 6 sting guitar strings and use them on a bass as well which would take your gauge down to a much lighter set. But beware of your Bass Guitar scale length for a length that will fit.
