Could be a fine, or suspension of your driver's license. In Pennsylvania, they can suspend your car's registration, and/or tow the car away
A bit over $200 I believe.
Seems like your registration being current would have provided you with a tag to put on your license plate. You would probably get a ticket that would be rescinded if you obtain current license tags--fill out the correct form and bring in five dollars.
Fine
there is a fine and you have to pay for registration
The fine will depend on what the judge sets in the hearing. Usually, you can get off with a warning and a small fine for the ticket.
If the registration card is current, and, it matches the tags on the car, you MAY get off with a warning but if not, the most you SHOULD receive is a ticket for 'displaying expired tags.' Unless something else is going on that is not disclosed in the question, (e.g.- the tags on the vehicle are NOT the tags assigned to it) they shouldn't be wanting to impound the vehicle .
The fine varies from state to state. Check with your local PD
Don't do it.
I don't know what the fine is in a particular jurisdiction but I can tell you this. The fine for driving without insurance will be far more than six months premium of the insurance that you were required to carry.
It will cost you $105.00 for improper registration violation, i got a ticket for this reason on 06/2012.
