Which oil filter is on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
Which engine? There are 3 different engine sizes and yes they
have different filters. I highly suggest that if you have a 5.7L
engine you let the dealer do it. ( talk to a service manager first
before you try it, you will be shocked to find out what you have to
go through to change that oil filter.) Also the transmission is the
same way ( don't try to service it your self, add tranny oil) on
the 5.7 engine there is NO tranny dip stick. It's designed to go
100,000 before servicing.
I own a 2008 5.7 L Tundra I know!
I also have a 2008 Tundra with the 5.7L iforce motor. Toyota
dealer in Va. said you can buy the oil filter wrench from Snapon.
Don't know how much it is haven't bought one yet. Also the engine
id label plate that has your engine info will have the letters
you'll need to match the right wrench with your motor. Not sure if
yours is the same as but mine has 3URFE on the label plate. And if
that is the case then the part number for Snapon is 09228-06501.
Hope that helps.
If you elect to do the oil change yourself. You have to drop the
skidplate first. Then remove the 4 screws that hold in the oil
filter. It's not a oil can but a paper filter. You will need the
tool here. If you get it in wrong it will leak. The oil is not 30
weight but Toyota 0 weight. That's right ZERO weight.
Now you know why I let Toyota do it.
