Rules of balancing chemical equations:

1. write the unbalanced equation

2. count the number of atoms of the same element on reactant and product side of equation

3. make the number of atoms the same by changing the coefficients, not subscripts

4. balance hydrogen and oxygen last

5. reduce coefficients if possible
The first step in balancing a chemical equation is identifying all elements.

For example:

H2O

So the elements you would identify are H (hydrogen) and O (oxygen).

Process of representing chemical reaction using chemical formulas and symbols is called chemical equation.

when chemical equations are written number of atoms on reactant side should be equal to number of atoms on product side, such equations are called balanced chemical equation.

example:. Magnesium + oxygen -------> Magnesium oxide

2Mg + 02 ------> 2Mgo

Explain how a catalyst aids chemical reaction to take place and identify the subsequent chemical changes in the reaction?

The role of a catalyst is to quicken the chemical reaction . On reacting, it subsequently appears as a product in the next step of the reaction.

What is a balancing equation?

a balance equation when it come to bio is that the input be exactly equal to the output. this will make the organism balanced with the environment it is in like a regulator fish in water. input=output. in chemistry: A balanced equation is used for chemical reactions. When the number of moles of reactants is equal to the number of moles of products, the equation is considered balanced. Search wikipedia for chemical equation for a step by step tutorial on how to balance chemical reaction equations.
