In Ephesians 4:8, 11-13 speaks of five ministry gifts given to the Body of Christ by Christ after he ascended. "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men...And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of miistry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ." KJV These gifts are also known as ascension gifts because Christ gave them after he descended and ascended in the earth and back to heaven. Scripture references: Ephesians 4:1-16 Christ descended to earth to redeem man; and ascended to heaven to glorify us.

Is Peter Wagner a Christian author?

Yes, he is. He is of the Philosophy of the Pentecostal Movement, who believe that all the Gospel is for today and that the miracles that happened in the Bible are still happening today. The five-fold ministry of Pastor, Prophet, Teacher, Apostle, and Evangelist are offices in the body of Christ, and a neglect of the Apostle and Prophet as modern day offices would be one focus of his ministry, that is these offices are and should be functioning in todays Christian Church.

What are the classical five-fold gospel pentecostal denominations?

The major Classical Pentecostal denominations that emphasize the five-fold gospel include Assemblies of God, Church of God in Christ, International Church of the Foursquare Gospel and Church of God (Cleveland, TN). There are also numerous smaller Pentecostal denominantions like the International Pentecostal Holiness church most of which hold to some form of the five-fold gospel. The most common elements of the five-fold gospel are Jesus as savior, baptizer, sanctifier, healer, and coming king. When groups hold to a four-fold gospel it is usually the sanctifier element that is absent like in the Foursquare church.
