Best Answer

Any pair of forces that has the same magnitude (strength) and opposite direction.

For example, when putting an object on atablet (a puppy)

Gravity acts upon the puppy to pull it down but it doesn't go down because there is a force that the table is acting on the puppy, with the same magnitude as the gravity but the direction is upward.

=> equilibrium forces.

When the forces on an object produce a net force of zero the forces are?

equal and opposite

When the force applied to an object produce a net force of zero the forces are?

Balanced

What unbalanced force?

Unbalanced forces are forces that produce a nonzero net force, which changes an object's motion. The result of an unbalanced force is acceleration of an object.

When the forces of an object are balanced what is the net force?

When the forces are balanced, the net force is zero, by definition. "Net force" refers to the vector sum of all the forces acting on an object.

Are net forces and unbalanced forces the same thing?

Net force is the sum of all forces that act on an object. An unbalanced force means that net force is not equal to zero. If that is the case, the object will accelerate.Net force is the sum of all forces that act on an object. An unbalanced force means that net force is not equal to zero. If balanced forces are acting on an object it will seem as if a net force is acting on the object?

If the forces are balanced this means that there is no net force acting

What are balanced and unbalance net force?

The "net force" is the vector sum of all forces acting on an object. "Balanced forces" means that the net force is zero. "Unbalanced forces" means that the net force is non-zero. Note that unbalanced forces on an object will cause an acceleration - the object's velocity will change.

When the net force of an object is not 0 the forces on the object are what?

The forces are not in equilibrium and there is a resultant(net, unbalanced) force on the object.

When the forces on an object produce a net force of zero is called what?

That's called a 'balanced' group of forces. Their effect on the object's motion is the same as the effect of zero force ... the object may rotate, but it won't accelerate.

When the forces on an object are balanced what is the net force?

When forces are balanced, the net force is zero.

What is the net force on an object that is acted on by balanced forces?

If all forces acting on the object are balanced (equal), the net force acting on the object is zero.
