Manual says 5.4oz
for model 1996-2004 the oil capacity per fork is 477cc, or 82mm from the top of the fork tube when fully compressed (no spring inside)
From my under standing if your riding MOTO, with a fork oil level gauge you measure put 110 mm.
6 oz of oil per fork
330ml per fork
It states in the owners manual that fork oil level is measured with the forks collapsed, 120mm from the outer fork tube to the top of the oil. The inner push rod needs to be collapsed and bled by putting your finger on it and stroking it through the travel several times until it is full. Then you can measure the oil level accurately.
Use 10 ounces for each fork. Less if you want softer suspension, perhaps 8 ounces.
400ml
Sae 5w
when changing oil 170 mL after disassembly and completely dry 202mL + or - 2.5 mL Level whe fully compressed 226mm
the front fork oil leval is to be set at 130mm from the top of the fork (air gap)..with the fork spring out ..and the fork fully collapsed ....
According to the Clymer manual and other sources, it's 228 cubic centimeters. In each fork tube, presumably. The manual also mentions that the oil level should be 176 mm below the top of the inner fork tube.
