NaHCO3
Caustic soda is sodium hydroxide - NaOH. A formula cannot be "increased".
The formula for Caustic Soda, is the same as sodium hydroxide, which is ' NaOH '.
Caustic Soda ( Sodium Hydroxide) is 'NaOH'. In the lab. it can be made with a pellet of sodium metal and water. 2Na(s) + 2H2O(l) = 2NaOH(aq) + H2(g). Industrially, it can be made from the electrolysis of salt water (brine). An electric potential is passed through salt water. Chlorine gas in liberated at one electrode, and sodium metal at the other. However, because the sodium metal is in contact with water ( brine solution), it immediately reacts with the water, to form sodium hydroxide, and liberate hydrogen at the other electrode. 2NaCl(aq) == p.d.==> Cl2(g) + 2Na(s) 2Na(s) + H2O(l) == 2NaOH(aq) + H2(g) So the salt water solution(brine) slowly becomes the alkali sodium hydroxide.
