There are two primary laws of conservation: conservation of energy and conservation of mass.

The conservation laws in essence state that while matter or energy may change form, they can never be destroyed.

In a chemical reaction, the conservation of mass dictates that the mass of the products will have exactly the same mass as the reactants.

The law of conservation of energy states that energy can not be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another, such as when electrical energy is changed into heat energy.

What law represents a balanced chemical equation?

The law of conservation of mass, which states that in a closed system, mass is neither created nor destroyed, it can only change form. This means that in a chemical reaction that takes place in a closed system, the mass of the reactants equals the mass of the products.

What law states that mass cannot be created or destroyed in chemical or physical changes?

The law of conservation of mass/matter states that mass/matter cannot be created or destroyed in chemical or physical changes.
