The term "à la page" has been used to describe the look of shirt and tie of the same color. It literally translates, "at the page," and implies "up to the minute" or the most current fashion.
Edit: "assorti" is the translation for "matching".
that would be called matching my good sir. :)
A cream tie with matching pants.
Monochromatic.
Without tie or cravat, over. With tie or cravat, under.
A normal tuxedo with a black tie or bow tie. You could go for matching outfits or a complete contrast. E.g - Black shirt with a white tie
no. I would wear a different tie , one that isn't a solid color.
Depends on what you are matching it with. What color is your suit/pants? Get that color on your tie and you should be OK. Medium grey (in a glen plaid) or tan could work.
My opinion is no I like to keep things interesting.... also no, nowadays matching your tie and shirt is socially unacceptable and looks quite horrendous
Scarlet Red tie and white shirt. Or. Black tie and white shirt. Or. White tie and dark blue shirt. Or. Electric blue tie and black shirt.
A stain on a shirt or tie..........
Medium blue, patterned if the shirt is plain. I wouldn't go blue on blue... same colors rarely complement each other. Consider a silver, black, orange, or even green tie, depending on the shades.
depends on the shirt and tie. but make it a thin tie!
