If a sound had a high amplitude and high frequency what would it sound like?

The sound would be like thunder, since thunder also has high amplitudes and frequency also. Usually at the begining of thunder you will listen cracking (krat..kat..krat .........) sound which is high frequency and high pitch. At the time when thundering is almost stop you will listen the heavy /bass sound which is very high amplitude and low frequency (goom.goom....goom...........) sound.

Why frequency of thunder is 50 hertz and frequency of whistle is 1000hertz?

It just is. Sound behaves like a wave, and the pitch of the sound affects the wavelength. And wavelength is directly related to the frequency. A high pitched sound has a a shorter wavelength and a higher frequency than a low-pitched sound.

Where is frequency located on wavelength?

It isn't.A general rule about waves is that the speed of the wave is equal to frequency x wavelength.

Can a low-pitched sound be louder than a high-pitched one?

Yes because pitch is frequency but sound is magnitude or amplitude at that frequency. Thus low pitch thunder can be louder than a high pitch flute

What happens to the period of a wave when the frequency decreases?

The period and frequency of a wave are inversely related, i.e. the period is the time it takes for wave to go through a cycle, and the frequency is the number of cycles in a certain time period. For example, a wave with a period of 0.5 seconds would have a frequency of 2 per second. Since these properties are the inverse of each other, than they will be opposite when changing. If the period decreases (i.e. gets shorter, faster) than the frequency increases. Or vice versa.

Why does thunder scare a gun dog but the sound of a gun doesn't?

thunder and guns have different frequencies a gun has a sharp fast frequency while thunder has a long low frequency also environment might play a factor

How do you increase a waves frequency?

Increase the energy in general.

What does frequency?

Frequency determines the number of times an event is repeated in a unit time. Event could be anything in general.

Why Transmitter frequency lower than Receiver?

In general they will be the same.

Why does the thunder sound hollow?

Because it is lighting between clouds. Most of the sound originates at the same distance from you. So the frequency of the sound is nearly the same. Therefor you can hear the harmonics created by the small difference in frequency.
