Part of the constellation of Leo, with the star Regulus at the southern end, looks like a question mark written back to front. Leo is best seen on spring evenings in the northern hemisphere, or autumn evenings in the southern.
The "Northern" star i assume you mean is the one very close to the celestial north pole. It is called Polaris and is in the constellation of Ursa Minor (Little Bear). The big dipper (called the plough here in England) are seven bright stars in the neighbouring constellation of Ursa Major (Great Bear). The two stars called Dubhe and Merak which form the front or shovel end of the dipper, are called pointers as they point towards Polaris.
The leading edge of a mass of air with certain, uniform moisture and temperature characteristics is called a front. i.e. The leading edge of a relatively warm air mass is called a warm front. The leading edge of a cooler air mass is called a cold front.
The thunderstorms that produce tornadoes often form along cold fronts, when a old air mass pushes into a warm air mass. The cold front develops when a low pressure system (which rotates counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere) pulls cold air from the north. For U.S. storm systems this cold air is pulled down from Canada.
it is called a cold front
occluded
A front that spirals counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere is called an occluded front. Fronts don't flow counterclockwise, although a low does have a counterclockwise spin and frontal systems form off of a low.
In the northern hemisphere it is the winter solstice. In winter we are tilted away from the sun. Today we are the "farthest" away from the sun and the most "tilted" It's only the shortest day of the year for the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, it is the longest day of the year. This is because the plane containing the equator does not cut the sun perfectly in half. What I mean by that is that the earth is tilted. Today, the earth is at such a position with the sun that the southern hemisphere is in front of the northern hemisphere for receiving sunlight. Because the earth rotates every day, the northern hemisphere will briefly be in front of the southern hemisphere (day), but for most of the day-the longest percentage of the day all year-the southern hemisphere will be in front(night).
If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, and the front of your house faces south, it is probably Antares, the brightest star in the constellation Scorpio.
"More than one tornado at a time." The term "family" of cyclones does not necessarily have to deal with tornadoes. The meteorological term has to do with mid-latitude cyclones. Basically meaning a particular number wave cyclones (low pressure systems in the Northern Hemisphere) that move in succession. Example: During the winter (in the Northern Hemisphere), when you get cold front after cold front. This is referred to as a "family" of cyclones.
The cerebrum is located in the front of the brain. It has 2 hemispheres. The right hemisphere of your brain is responsible for creativity and the left hemisphere is for logic as well as problem solving.
The date was June 6, 1944, the event was called D-Day, the invasion of the Europe also the opening of the western front.
The rotation of the Earth is from west to east (the sun rises in the east) and if your right hand points to the east, north is then in front of you (south is behind you). Or, you could also tell by continent. North America and Eurasia are in the northern hemisphere, Africa and South America are partly in the northern, and partly in the southern hemisphere, Australia is entirely in the southern hemisphere.
The northern front was a unit of the Russian army that was formed in August 1915. The unit fought on the Eastern Front during World War I.
No, polar bears live only in one state in the US: Alaska. They are all in the Arctic region in the northern most of the Northern Hemisphere in Alaska (US), Canada, Russia, Greenland, and Norway.
England, Scotland and Wales together are Great Britain. If Northern Ireland is added, the country then has its full title of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which is what is written on the front of a British passport.
