It is a form of Polenta, found in most African nations, more particularly south of the Congo. It was discovered when a group of pygmies discovered the pre-masticated root, Harshadia, that had been chewed, and regurgitated by a tribe of Gorillas. While not palatable to the Gorillas, the pygmies found it to be a delicious treat and soon made it a mainstay of their diet. Hope this helps.
