St. Agnes is from the story St. Agnes in Agony about a girl who lived in Rome, I had originally heard that she had refused to renounce her Christianity and was sentenced to a life of sexual labor.

The Story is supposed to actually go like this...

St. Agnes in Agony was a gorgeous 13 year old virgin. A king had a son that he wanted to marry her. She refused to marry him, because she had made a promise to God not to have sex with anyone. When she refused the King's proposal of marriage to his son he said to kill her. When they said "Sir we cannot possibly kill a virgin!" The king ordered her out to be tied to a post and burned to death. But they tried and tried again to lite her and nothing they could do would start a fire to burn her, so they drew a sword and either slit her throat or chopped her head off.

Don't know for sure which, but either way she still unfortunately died, but honorably because i believe a promise to God is something no matter what the circumstances you don't break, and she proved just how important not breaking a promise to God is. I still don't know which story is true, but that's the fun part, because you can either research your heart out or choose which story to believe! Your Choice!
