A business location may serve as a place to distribute goods and services to customers or as a place employees regularly work due to the need to have physical interactions such as assembly of materials into products.

Conversely, some companies have no locations because they do not assemble products or physically distribute them from retail stores or warehouses. This virtual organization approach saves companies considerable expense and saves employees commute time and expense. It allows companies to hire the best person rather than the best who lives in City X.

What the difference between pass by value and pass by reference?

Pass by value calls a function or returns a value based on the number or "value". Maybe you're calling a function with the value of 5, you would just call the function passing the 5. The function can't change the 5, it's always a 5. Pass by reference calls a function and passes a pointer to a memory location that contains the value. You might call the function pointing to a location that contains the number of people who live in your home. That location has been populated with a value, so the function can look at that location and determine that yes, there are 5 members in your family. But the function may be responsible for updating the number of people in your family and you just had a baby, so the function would update the value that is stored at the location. Pass by reference just gives a "pointer" to the memory location. In reality, when a string value is used in any "C" application, it passed by reference.

How is the location of a pigment related to its function?

The location of a pigment within a cell or organism typically corresponds to its specific function. For example, chlorophyll is located in chloroplasts where photosynthesis occurs, while melanin is found in skin cells to protect against UV radiation. The specific function of a pigment is closely tied to its location within the biological system it serves.

What is the probability of finding a particle in a box at a specific location?

The probability of finding a particle in a box at a specific location is determined by the square of the wave function at that location. This probability is represented by the absolute value of the wave function squared, which gives the likelihood of finding the particle at that particular position.
