a sperm contains 50% of the genetic materials, just like the egg of a female. the sperm travels through the penis and is shot into the female during sex and swims through her vagina and into her uterus when it goes into each of the philopean tubes to find the egg...

when they meet, the 2 halfs of genetic matial combine and create the first cell of another organism... this then will grow and divide until it is a fetus and will continue 'til it is a baby...

It basically controls the way the sperm goes because of the centrioles located in it. It also plays a vital role during fertilization as the sperm makes contact with the egg.
