The multitester, also known as the multimeter, seems to have been invented by Donald Macadie, a British Post Office engineer.
To use a Micronta No. 22-027 multitester, first ensure the device is set to the correct measurement mode (voltage, current, or resistance) by turning the selector knob. For measuring voltage, connect the red probe to the positive terminal and the black probe to the negative terminal of the circuit. For resistance, connect the probes across the component and read the value on the display. Always start with the highest range setting to avoid damaging the meter, then adjust as necessary for more accurate readings.
