What is the function of the step - up transformers?

a transformer changes voltage and current by inducing a changing magnetic field in one coil. this changing field then induces an alternating current in a nearby coil with a different number of turns.


A 'step-up' transformer is one in which the voltage (not current!) induced into the secondary winding is higher than the voltage applied to the primary winding. In other words, it's used to provide a voltage that is higher than the available supply voltage.
