Within the blood is oxygen, and all the different parts of your body, and more specifically all the cells that make up the parts of your body, cannot live without that oxygen. That's why if you put something tight around your finger, so tight that the blood vessels can't circulate into the finger carrying the blood which is carrying the oxygen, the finger will turn gray and eventually fall off. That's because it didnt get any oxygen.
