2009: A GRB gamma ray burst, dubbed GRB 090423, was detected 13.1 billion light years away. It was probably a supernova explosion, leaving behind one of the first black holes.
2004: IOK-1 is the furthest known galaxy at 12.9 billion light years away.
The furthest celestial body from Earth are quasars. Scientists currently don't know what quasars are, but they think they are the cores of bright galaxies. They are known to be extremely bright and hot.
A galaxy has been detected 13 billion light years from us - possibly the furthest know object.
The "farthest thing" from Earth is really a vague question. The Universe is thousands of millions of light years long 1 light year=5,878,625,373,183.61 miles!!!!
The Andromeda Galaxy at about 2 million light years can be seen with the naked eye. M81 at about 12 million light years can just barely be seen by experienced observers under excellent conditions.
A gigantic stellar explosion recently shattered the record for the furthest object visible with the naked eye - halfway across the known universe.
On the 19th of March 2008 a gamma ray burst at a distance of 7.5 billion light years was detected by NASA's Swift satellite.
For a brief time this dim (at this distance) afterglow in the constellation Boötes could have been observed by the naked eye as it was recorded to have reached visual magnitudes of between 5 and 6.
The burst is named GRB 080319B, the second of a record four bursts that Swift detected for one day.
The optical afterglow was 2.5 million times more luminous than the most luminous supernova, or stellar explosion, ever recorded, scientists said. That would make it the most intrinsically bright object ever observed by humans. Apparently the most distant previous object that could have been seen by the naked eye is the nearby galaxy M33, a relatively short 2.9 million light-years from Earth.
The actual explosion occurred at a time when the universe was less than half its current age and Earth had yet to form.
This record could of course change in time as newer discoveries are constantly made.
Coincidentally, on the same day acclaimed science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke died.

The most distant object detected until now is between 13 and 14 billion light years
from us. But that limit only arises because there's a limit to the sensitivity of our
present astronomical instruments. No end to the universe has been detected,
and nobody has any idea how much farther it keeps going past that distance.
The Andromeda Galaxy, is more than 220,000 light-years across and lies 2.5 million light-years away. On a clear, dark night, the galaxy is faintly visible as a misty patch to the naked eye.
A star is probably the most distant object in the universe.
The most distant "seen" object is a quasar.
For now, it's an galaxy called "UDFJ-39546284" which founded in the Hubble's ultra deep field.
The edge of the visible Universe is about 13.2 to 13.7 billion light years.
That's about 1.27717133 × 1023 kilometers or 127 sextillion kilometers.
Alpha Camelopardalis is 5000 light-years from Earth, one of the most distant stars that can be seen with the naked eye.Beta and Sigma are both double stars.
Yes, Mars can be seen at night without a telescope. It's a "naked eye object".
Yes, some nebulae can be seen with the naked eye, if you know where to look. They are better seen with binoculars, but in the right conditions some can be seen with the naked eye, like the Orion nebula, in the constellation of Orion.

Yes. The stars in other galaxies are far too distant to be seen with the naked eye.

A telescope is used to view things that are too far away to be seen with the naked eye, such as distant stars and planets. A microscope is used to view things that are too small to be seen with the naked eye, like individual cells and bacteria.

Naturists or Nudists like to be naked but not seen by outsiders. Exhibitionists like to be seen by all.
These are tiny creatures that most likely cannot be seen with the naked eye. They have to be seen by microscope. Most of these creatures are a bacteria or virus.
