Intially it was 100:1 but OMC released a media statement in the early nineties stating all pre-nineties pre-mix 2 stroke engines should be run on 50:1 if the style of use was wide open throttle for most of the time. Reading around the net, it seems that the various grades and types of oil available today, running at 50:1 in an original 100:1 engine, can cause excess smoke and uneven running. It may turn out to be a trial and error method for your specific motor depending on its state of maintenace.
The 1984 model, 60 hp Johnson outboard requires a 50:1 ratio, one pint of 2 cycle oil, to six gallons of fuel.
50:1 is the correct mixture.
can someone tell me what the gas to oil mixture for a 48 spl Johnson boat motor is please
50 to 1 oil to gas
50 to 1 or 2oz of oil to 1gallon of gas
50:1
50:1 gas to oil.
50:1

50:1
Gas/Oil Mix = 50:1
50:1 is the correct mixture for a 1992 Johnson 60 hp outboard.
