Medusa was the high-priestess of Athena, she was one of the most beautiful women in all of Greece but because of her vocation she vowed to live a chased life but one day she caught the eye of a God called Poseidon, he took her in to the temple and raped her. Athena was furious and in her wrath she turned Medusa into a ugly creature with snakes for hair as to not attract people to her beauty.
