Aeroplanes take of from huge long distance roads called runways. A runway is located near an airport. When an aeroplane is full or ready to "take off", it "taxis" out to the runway and stops for a very short time. When the pilots get the word from Air Traffic Control, they increase the throttle of the engine (engine speed) and when a certain speed is reached, the plane climbs into the sky. Then after reaching a certain height, it levels off and flies straight. Then, it descends before reaching the planned destination and lands on the runway. Then the above steps repeat over and over.

This varies greatly from airport to airport. Your modern international airport runway is generally 100 to 150 feet wide. Small municipal airport runways are usually somewhere between 50 and 75 feet wide. Some small backwater airports may have runways as narrow as 15 feet.
Moving an airplane under it's own power from one point at the airport to another. For example, leaving the gate and moving to the runway for takeoff is considered taxiing.
A runway?
An airplane usually goes at 150mph-200mph on a runway
The only airplane that you can get on Grand Theft Auto 3 is the 'Dodo'. To get the Dodo, you must do the missions and unlock Stauton Island and Shoreside Vale. Then, you go to Francis International Airport by the subway or using a car. Drive into the Airport Taxiway and the Dodo will be in a Hanger or near the Helicopters near the runway.

Runway..
An airport runway is used for a plane when it goes up in the air and when it goes down on the ground. I would have to agree
A airplane runway is usually made of asphalt, although any flat surface from glacial ice, to bedrock, to concrete could work
A runway must be smooth in order for an airplane to land safely on it.
