One gauge, and one gauge only. If you cheat and stretch more than the next gauge you will damage the tissue, once it's damaged it will not return to normal when the plugs are removed.

You definitely cant stretch your ears the same day you get them pierced. What you can do is get them pierced at a bigger gauge to skip the stretching process.

How do you gauge your ear past a 716 since they dont make tapers?

First off, you don't "gauge" your ears. You stretch them. Use teflon or bondage tape to stretch up. Add a new layer about every week and you'll be able to stretch that way. Don't use any other types of tape because they'll make a sticky, gunky mess.

How do you put tapers-body jewelry in for the first time?

Tapers are used to stretch the ears, so if you have tapers close to the gauge that your ears are currently, grit your teeth and push it through until it gets to the widest end and put the rubber rings on the taper to keep it in place. If the gauge of the taper is NOT near what your ears are currently, I wouldn't suggest pushing it through. If you do, it could cause your skin to rip and bleed, or your ear to split entirely, resulting in a blowout.

If you gauge your ears does it matter how long you leave them in for them to grow back?

The elastin in the tissue will always want to make them shrink so long as you don't stretch too far.

How long should you wait to gauge your ears I peirced my ears about 2 weeks ago with a 16 gauge how long should i wait to make them bigger and whats the biggest size I can move up to at one time?

Pro AnswerIn ear lobe stretching if you just had them you need to wait for them to heal first 6~8 weeks. If you stretch now you will damage the lobes and cause tissue tearing. Once healed you can stretch up 1 gauge once every 30 days, No more than one gauge and No faster that 30 days. Again going faster will cause the tissue to tear. Once you get where you want to be you can remove the jewellery and the piercings will shrink down without leaving great gaping holes (on the provision you did the stretch properly)

How big can you gauge your ears straight from an eighteen gauge without it ripping?

No more than 16 gauge. Listen you guys just don't get it, you rush to go higher in gauge, rip the tissue then you have cat's butts on your ears for life. You need to learn skin stretches 10% before it tears, the next gauge up from 18 gauge is 7.5% larger, well below the chance of you tearing your ear piercings. The point is that you need to wait 30 days no less before you go up another gauge, the skin needs to develope and allow for the stretch. If you want to stretch do it right or look like a fool like your buddies who rush the stretching. Trust me I know what I am talking about.

It is really endless in stretching, but take your time. and clinical studies have proven tat in 98% of the time your ear will heal as long as you don't stretch past double zero gauge size
