The Emperor Constantine lived in the first century AD and is known for a variety of historically significant facts. He is considered the founder of the Roman and Byzantine church, credited with being the first world leader to effectively legalize Christianity. His reign saw civil war within the Roman Empire and thus he is said to have had a huge impact on European history. If you've ever heard of Constantinople (now called Istanbul, in Turkey), it was named after him.
