Georgetown Leather Design was a Washington, DC, based specialty retailer of fine leather goods. It started in the 1960s with handcrafted leather goods like sandals, belts, bags, etc. It grew through the 1970s and sold its own designs of bags and outerwear, which it manufactured in Alexendria, Virginia. In addition to its stores at 32nd and M Street in Georgetown and 17th and K Street south of Dupont Circle, it opened stores in suburban malls like Tysons Corner, Springfield, White Flint, Landover, and Mazza Gallerie. In 1984 the founders sold the company to holding company, which in 1993 sold the company to Wilson Leather.
