Ireland has a very long history, so a full list would be huge. You could start thousands of years ago in pagan times, with Newgrange being built over 5000 years ago, by which time there had been people in Ireland for about 3000 years. Jumping a large step forward, you come through to early Christian times, with the coming of St. Patrick in 432AD. You then have the era when Christianity grew. You then had the coming of the Vikings in about 795AD and their time in Ireland which lasted over 200 years. You had the coming of the Normans in about 1169AD, which marked the start of British involvement in Ireland. As time moves on, the recording of history gets better, so there is a growing amount of recorded history after that. That includes things like the coming of the Reformation to Ireland, many revolutions against the British, the famine in the 1840s and right up to the 1916 Easter Rising which led to the war of Independence, and on to Irish independence, which had the partition of Ireland which created Northern Ireland and what we now call the Republic of Ireland in 1922. You then had the Irish Civil War. There were many things in the 20th century, most notably the Northern Ireland troubles from the late 1960s to the early 1990s and then the Good Friday Agreement in 1998. That brings us to modern times, with the boom in the Irish economy, nicknamed the Celtic Tiger, and the crash that started in 2008 and the now slow recovery that continues now in 2014.
All of that leaves out a huge amount of significant events in Irish history, but if you are really interested in more, there is a huge amount of material on Irish history available.
