Google says 357cc is equal to 13 H.P.
The engine is manufactured in China, which I am assuming you mean the Powermore 357cc engine. The plant in China is a partnership of MTD in Canada...
Most lawn and garden equipment motors run about 1 HP for every 25CC ... so a 357 would be somewhere around 12-14 HP.
1hp=42cc thus 8.5hp=357cc..
1HP = 16cc [approx] therefore, 357cc/16 = 22.3125
More info is needed. Sears uses many different engines. We will need to know which engine is in the mower. There should be a tag or sticker on the top of the engine with the brand and HP.
blew engine cause of low oil.... junk the mower engine & replace or pitch the whole mower... your choice
696854 is the Briggs Filter on my 24 horse now that is probably a Sears part number.

You really must state which engine you have. However, most 18 HP engines on lawn tractors take about 2 quarts. Add oil until you reach the 'FULL' mark on the dipstick.
