tornadoes, because of the pressure, are usually lethal on birds, not from being ripped apart, but when the tornado is done, and it drops them to the ground. Their spines are too tiny to withstand the impact.

Tornadoes can be very damaging to natural habitats. Trees are quite vulnerable. A tornado can snap and uproot dozens and even thousands of trees. A large, violent tornado can cause complete deforestation along its path. Animals such as birds can easily loose their habitats and can be killer or injured if caught in the path of a tornado. On occasion, tornadoes have been known to suck fish out of lakes.

Even a relatively weak tornado can bring down hundreds of trees. Large, violent tornadoes can destroy many thousands. In some cases swaths of forest have been leveled. Animals caught in tornadoes are often killed or injured and can lose their habitats. Tornadoes, called waterspouts when on water, have been known to suck fish out of lakes and rivers.
